I always find it curious that when I think of her, it's the always the elegant folds of her gown, the way it sat, swirled gently against the floor, resting at her feet, as thought arranged by courtiers. I remember it so vividly, as if I could feel its plush, inviting softness against my skin.

There was something so aesthetically appealing about the whole scene. It remains etched in my mind like a precious work of art adorning a gallery wall.

I’d felt her presence before I entered the room, like a silent beckoning.


All these years later the memory of that night still arouses me, with the same intensity and yearning as if it were yesterday. Her scent lingers on my lips…
